MehrWert aus Nebenprodukten #2

Tuesday, 22 September 2026
Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, Kuchl Campus
Markt 136a, 5431 Kuchl

Following the successful launch in spring, the event series “MehrWert aus Nebenprodukten” (Added Value from By-products) will continue in autumn. On 22 September, Bioeconomy Austria, together with the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences in Kuchl, invites participants to an event dedicated to the potential of residual materials. This edition will focus on the residual material streams bark, forest wood chips, spent grain, and maize straw.

The event is jointly organised by Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, BioBASE, the Austrian & European Eco-Social Forum, Innovation Salzburg, and the Standortagentur Tirol. Participants can expect expert input from both research and practice, as well as an interactive workshop session. During the workshop, they will be able to split into groups according to their interests and jointly discuss the potential and possible applications of the different residual material streams.

The aim of this interactive format is to bring together stakeholders from agriculture and forestry, research, industry, and public administration in order to analyse the potential of agricultural, forestry, and industrial residual materials and to identify concrete steps for their cascading use.

The follow-up report on the first workshop held as part of CESA on 7 May in Graz is available here.
