The Building Innovation Cluster (BIC) is a cross-sector network for strengthening the innovative power and competitiveness of companies. The BIC is active in the fields of architecture and design, construction and ancillary construction trades as well as furniture and timber construction. All companies, training and further education institutions and research facilities in Upper Austria whose activities and services are related to buildings and furnishings benefit from this network.
The cluster sees itself as a platform for sustainable, networked and intelligent construction and manufacturing. The aim is to improve regional value creation and the cooperation and productivity of all trades involved in construction and production. It is implemented through integrated processes, planning tools and advanced automation to improve and accelerate execution on site. The focus is on processes and interfaces between procurement, planning, manufacturing as well as distribution. In order to make analogue and digital tools usable, the cluster is also dedicated to the corresponding qualification of employees along the entire value chain.
