The THINK.WOOD.Innovation 2026 call, funded by the Austrian Forest Fund, is now open for applications. The aim of the call is to strengthen the sustainable wood sector and support innovative solutions for climate action, the circular economy and the future-oriented use of wood.
What is eligible for funding?
Funding is available for collaborative research and development projects focusing on the following areas:
- – Timber construction systems
- – Sustainability and life cycle
- – Wood-based energy infrastructure
- – Digitalisation of the forest–wood supply chain
- – Substitution of energy-intensive construction materials, basic materials and other materials
Projects must address at least one of these priority areas.
Who can apply?
Eligible applicants include (non-profit) associations, universities of applied sciences, research institutions, large enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), competence centres and universities. As the funding is intended for collaborative R&D projects, applications must involve at least two project partners.
