Nordic Delegation in Styria

As part of the “Nordic–Austrian Circular Futures Exchange 2026”, held from 5 to 6 May 2026, the Green Tech Valley Cluster and Holzcluster Steiermark GmbH, in cooperation with the Circular Economy Forum Austria, organised an international and interdisciplinary expert exchange with a Nordic delegation in Styria. Led by the Swedish and Finnish embassies, representatives from Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark and Iceland were welcomed to Reininghaus to discuss sustainable innovations and forward-looking approaches to the circular economy.

Insights into Timber Construction, Lightweight Design and Circular Economy

The programme opened with Rupert Richter-Trummer (KAGES), who provided valuable insights into timber construction and circular economy approaches within Styrian hospital infrastructure. The subsequent networking lunch focused on exchange, new perspectives and international networking opportunities.

In the second part of the programme, Thomas Krenke from Wood Vision Lab presented the innovation journey of lightweight construction using wood as a raw material – ranging from applications in mobility and industry to the development of the Wood Vision Lab innovation laboratory.

A sincere thank you to all participants for the inspiring day and the valuable international dialogue on sustainable, bio-based innovations.
