The Circular Economy Summit Austria will take place as a full-day event on 7 May 2026 at the Chamber of Commerce Styria in Graz. Under the motto “Rethinking Regions,” the event highlights the role of regions as drivers of the circular economy. The focus is on how regional economic cycles can contribute to implementing the national circular economy strategy while strengthening value creation, resilience, and regional competitiveness.
As Austria’s central platform for circular economy, the Summit brings together representatives from policy, public administration, business, research, and civil society. Its aim is to provide orientation, showcase current developments, and foster exchange among key stakeholders.
Programme
The main programme combines high-level keynote impulses with dialogue-oriented panel discussions. Leading actors will address opportunities and challenges in implementing national strategies at the regional level – from regions and municipalities to companies.
On 6 May, a complementary side programme will be offered. In cooperation with partner organisations, a diverse range of knowledge formats, networking opportunities, and excursions will be provided, particularly for participants who wish to explore regional best practices in greater depth.
Walk of Opportunities – Call for Posters
With the “Walk of Opportunities,” the Summit offers a curated presentation and networking space for non-profit projects from research and practice. Initiatives presented in this format demonstrate concrete contributions to the circular economy with a strong regional impact.
The format aims to inspire, enable new partnerships, and highlight concrete opportunities for participation and further development.
As part of an open Call for Posters, projects, initiatives, and research activities with a clear link to the circular economy and regional implementation are invited to apply.
The submission deadline is 1 March 2026. Further information on the application process can be found on the website.
