With the new Green Chemistry Accelerator, the Environment Agency Austria and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management, Climate and Environment are launching a targeted support program for founders in the field of Green Chemistry.
The initiative is part of the platform “Green Chemistry – Future:Chemistry” and aims to strengthen innovation, networking, and visibility of young companies. It serves as a central dialogue and networking forum to promote sustainable chemical innovations in Austria.
Its goal: to better connect science, business, and administration and bring future-oriented topics of Green Chemistry into focus.
Innovation for a Sustainable Future
Start-ups are a key driver of transformation: they bring fresh ideas, courage to experiment, and dynamism into both business and science.
Especially in the emerging field of Green Chemistry, founders face particular challenges – from complex technical issues to regulatory requirements and industry-specific demands in biotechnology, bioeconomy, or circular economy.
This is where the Green Chemistry Accelerator comes in: it offers guidance, exchange, and targeted support to help innovative ideas on their way to market maturity.
Four Focus Areas – One Goal: Strengthening Green Chemistry Start-ups
The accelerator brings together key support measures for founders and young companies:
- Networking: Active promotion of exchange and cooperation between start-ups, investors, companies, incubators, and funding institutions.
- Dialogue: Founders can contribute their topics, provide input, and help improve framework conditions.
- Support Options: The program identifies and connects participants with professional, structural, and financial support opportunities.
- Good Practice Examples: Successful start-ups are made visible – as inspiration and learning examples for others.
Together for Green Innovation
The further development of the accelerator is carried out in collaboration with the community: founders, established companies, investors, and funding institutions actively shape the process.
Successful start-ups are showcased – as role models for innovation and sustainability.
