New Format: StoffWechsel

raw materials of the bioeconomy explained in an understandable way

Bioeconomy is a key topic for the future – yet for many people, it remains an abstract or unfamiliar concept. With our new information format “StoffWechsel”, we aim to make it more accessible: In a compact format, we present selected bio-based raw materials, highlighting their historical development, current applications, and future potential and challenges.

Starting off: LIGNIN

Once considered an environmental burden, lignin is now a valuable energy source and may become a versatile material shaping the future of the bioeconomy. Its journey reflects the transformation from waste to resource – a powerful example of the innovative potential within Austria’s bioeconomy.
