In 2024, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment, Climate, Regions, and Water Management (BMLUK) launched the initiative “A Country & Organisation-Led Initiative (COLI) on Sustainable Forest-based Bioeconomy Approaches.” The focus is on the sustainable use of renewable resources, with an emphasis on the wood-based value chain. Together with international partners such as Australia, Finland, and Japan, innovative approaches to the bioeconomy are being advanced. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
The goal is to harmonize economic growth, ecological sustainability, and social justice. The term bioeconomy<\/strong> has different focal points in various regions of the world. While there is no universally accepted definition, it generally refers to the economy based on renewable resources<\/strong>. The efficient use<\/strong> of these resources is crucial, as even renewable resources<\/strong> are finite and must be utilized with a focus on sustainability<\/strong>. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n An essential component of COLI<\/strong> is a global webinar series<\/strong>, which will be conducted by FAO in 2025. This project is supported by the BMLUK<\/strong> and the Finnish Ministry of Agriculture.
