On the last day of the event, a total of nine different excursions were made available for visitors to choose from. proHolz Tirol, in the context of “Bioeconomy Austria” and in close cooperation with the Tyrolean Forestry Association, organized one of these.

Under the motto “From the tree to the finished wood product”, four stations along the forest-wood value chain were visited. In addition to a forest tour in Vomp, the participants also gained insights into downstream links in the value chain. Kurt Ziegner, President of the Tyrolean Forestry Association, began by presenting the project “Klimafitter Bergwald Tirol”. In the piece of forest visited, a conversion to mixed forest has been carried out in recent years. The next stop was the Troger Holz sawmill, where company boss Helmut Troger welcomed the visitors. Everyone was impressed by the speed and precision with which the delivered wood is cut. The company is one of Tyrol’s largest wood processing companies with a cutting capacity of 350,000 cubic metres per year and 16 drying chambers. After the lunch break, a visit was made to an extension of the Reschenhof Hotel built using the modular timber construction method. proHolz Managing Director Rüdiger Lex explained the special features of the hotel wing to the participants. The building was awarded a commendation in the Tyrolean Timber Construction Prize 2019. Finally, the participants met at Holzmanufaktur und Vitrinenbau Auer, where company owner and managing director Heinrich Auer gave a tour of the workshops and presented projects. The innovative company refines wood into high-quality end products. In addition to furnishing private homes or hotels, the company also serves niche markets such as showcase construction or the construction of ship furnishings. The orders for these come from all over the world.

If you are interested or have any questions about the event, please do not hesitate to contact us!

Contact

[:de]proHolz Tirol wiederholt Erfolgsprojekt.
