On 19 May, Bioeconomy Austria participated with an information stand at the networking event of the INTERREG project Craft2Biodiversity<\/a> at the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI)<\/a>. Denis Erath and Barbara Wille from Standortagentur Tirol,<\/a> together with R\u00fcdinger Lex from proHolz Tirol<\/a>, presented the Bioeconomy Austria initiative as well as innovative examples from the Austrian bioeconomy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bioeconomy Showcase Collection: Hands-on Bio-based Products<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As part of the event, Bioeconomy Austria was also presented on stage. In addition, selected elements of the new Bioeconomy Showcase Collection<\/a> were presented to the public for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through numerous product examples, visitors were able to see the wide range of applications already possible with bio-based solutions today. The showcase included bioplastics, biochar, hydrogels, fertilizers made from coffee grounds, surfaces based on natural materials, natural cosmetics, bio-based textiles, and insulation materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition demonstrated how fossil-based resources can be replaced in many areas by regional bio-based raw materials, products, and processes. The aim of the collection is to make the potential of the bioeconomy tangible and to present innovative solutions in a practical and accessible way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Craft2Biodiversity: Strengthening Biodiversity in the Craft Sector<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The INTERREG project Craft2Biodiversity focuses on the role of biodiversity in the craft sector and develops practical approaches for sustainable products, processes, and business models. Ecological responsibility, energy efficiency, and innovation are at the core of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, many craft businesses face the challenge of integrating biodiversity and sustainable business practices more systematically into their operational processes. At the same time, there is often a lack of practical knowledge and applicable solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is exactly where Craft2Biodiversity comes in: the project develops recommendations and tools to embed biodiversity into the craft sector in the long term \u2014 ranging from product design and operational infrastructure to new business models. The project runs until March 2027 and brings together five international project partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
