{"id":11007,"date":"2026-05-21T14:30:09","date_gmt":"2026-05-21T12:30:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bioeconomy-austria.at\/?p=11007"},"modified":"2026-05-21T14:30:11","modified_gmt":"2026-05-21T12:30:11","slug":"hack-the-future","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bioeconomy-austria.at\/en\/2026\/05\/21\/hack-the-future\/","title":{"rendered":"Hack the Future"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Hack the Future<\/em> is launching as a new innovation format that provides young talents, start-ups, research groups, students, pupils and interdisciplinary teams with a platform for forward-looking ideas along the <em>forest\u2013wood\u2013bioeconomy value chain<\/em>. The initiative aims to showcase innovative projects, generate new impulses and support the further development of promising ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Projects can be submitted in six categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Forest Management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wood &amp; Applications<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bioeconomy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Research &amp; Theses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Communication &amp; Education<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Digitalisation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Teams can submit their projects via the application form until <strong>12 June 2026<\/strong>. Following the submission phase, an expert jury will review all entries and invite the most promising projects to the <strong>Hackathon Show Day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participating teams will be supported by mentors and given the opportunity to further develop their ideas in a targeted way. During the <strong>Show Day on 23 June 2026 at Graz University of Technology (TU Graz)<\/strong>, teams will present their projects to an interdisciplinary jury. The best submissions in each category will be honoured during an award ceremony on <strong>12 October 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to presenting projects to a broader audience, <em>Hack the Future<\/em> offers direct exchange with experts and valuable feedback to support further development steps.
